9×12′
Bedroom
A 9×12′ rug can fit perfectly in a spacious bedroom with a king or queen sized bed. For example, when placed under a king bed and two nightstands, a 9×12’ will have ~2 ft of rug on either side of the bed.
Living Room
A 9×12′ rug can be a great choice for a larger size living room. They work perfect for larger, L-shaped sofas and can anchor your seating area, while also leaving enough room around the edges for the flooring to show.
Dining Room
A 9×12′ rug can work great for large dining tables with 8-10 chairs, no matter the shape (square, rectangular, circular, or oval). A rectangular-shaped table can be ideal for a 9×12’ if you want enough room to pull out all of the chairs without crossing the edge of the rug.
8×10′
Bedroom
An 8×10′ works perfectly in a bedroom with a king, queen, or full sized bed. For example, when used with a queen, an 8×10’ will have ~2 ft on either side of the rug, which works perfectly with two nightstands.
Living Room
An 8×10’ is the most versatile and common size for living rooms. While they are highly adaptable, 8×10’s are perfectly suited for rooms with 2-3 seater sofas (with or without accent chairs) and can even be used with L-shaped sofas.
Dining Room
An 8×10’ is best for medium sized dining tables with 6-8 chairs or less. No matter the shape of the table (rectangular, square, circular, or oval), an 8×10′ will suit your needs. For use with rectangular tables, 8×10’s are ideal if you’re looking to have the rug extend beyond the back of all dining chairs.
6×9′
Bedroom
A 6×9’ works perfectly at the foot of a king or queen sized bed. It can be partially under the bed (as shown in the diagram) or simply placed at the foot of the bed. When used with a queen (as shown in the diagram), a 6×9’ will have ~1.5 ft on either side of the bed.
Living Room
A 6×9’ works well in smaller to mid sized living rooms. 6×9’s are perfectly suited for rooms with 2-3 seater sofas (with or without accent chairs) and can even be used with L-shaped sofas. 6×9’s and 8×10’s are both great options for a living room, with a 6×9′ being ideal for those who want slightly more of the flooring exposed.

Bedroom
A 5×8’ works perfectly at the foot of a queen or full sized bed. It can be partially under the bed (as shown in the diagram) or simply placed at the foot of the bed without overlap.
Living Room
In smaller living rooms, a 5×8′ will fit nicely underneath a coffee table, with or without two accent chairs. 5×7’s can also work well in other open spaces within a living room, such as in front of a fireplace or adjacent to the seating area.
Kitchen
